Our History
The History of Lions Quest in India Foundation:
Owing to the effort of the then 1st International Vice President Lion Rohit Mehta, Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence came to India in the Year 1991, Pilot Project –The first Teachers Training Workshop (TTW) was conducted in February 1991 at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai with the help of Lions Clubs International (LCI) and Lions Quest International. Lions Quest in India Foundation was established on 11th November 1993 as a Non-profit Organization & registered with Charity Commissioner, Mumbai.
The program progressed and along with training teachers and helping young adolescents, it also facilitated professional development for its trainers. It was translated into 4 regional languages and is now in its 4th edition.
2014-15: 26 Episodes of “Sapno Ki Dhara” a tele-series on Lion Quest was telecast on Aastha Channel and videos are now available on “YouTube” for free viewing.
In the year 2015 Lion Rohit Mehta chose to retire from the post of LQIF Chairman. However, he continued his association as Chairman Emeritus till September 2020. In November 2014, Lion Shyam Malpani became Chairman of LQIF.
With the combined effort of MD 321, MD 322 and erstwhile MD 323 Lions Quest implementation crossed 1,30,000 for the first time in 2018 - 19 (Total Implementation from 2015 - 2020 has been 4,69,000)
Year 2020: New online SEL program for adults (18 to 80 Years) was introduced namely Empowering Mind Enriching Life (EMEL). It was based on CASEL format and was developed with the help of our Trainers.
Year 2021: Online parent seminars were introduced.
